Ākina is humbled to have received the Social Impact Award of the 2024 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year New Zealand awards.

EY states “The Award is designed to recognise an entrepreneur who communicates an inspiring purpose which enables a more sustainable future and demonstrates outstanding long-term value creation for all stakeholders, including communities and the planet. This entrepreneur also innovates solutions to some of society’s toughest challenges, and role models the capacity of business as a force for good.”

At Ākina our impact is the impact of others. “Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini.” (My success is not my own, but from many others.) Ākina is privileged to support, measure and uplift the impactful work making real change in our communities everyday.

Ākina believes that every organisation has the power and responsibility to create positive impact through their work. Positive Impact is the positive social, environmental or cultural outcomes that happen as the consequence of an action.

We bring together community, business and government partners to achieve greater outcomes for people and the planet. The good outcomes an organisation creates could be environmental impact like diverting waste from landfills, or perhaps social impact like employing people with disabilities.

Many thanks also to our clients and partners who continue to create positive impact for the communities they serve.

Mauri ora ki a tātou!
