Five Years of the Impact Investment Readiness Programme
Ākina has been delivering Aotearoa New Zealand’s only Impact Investment Readiness Programme for the past five years.
This programme provides funding to impact-led businesses which enables them engage professional advisors and support that helps them get ready to seek impact investment. After completing the readiness work, recipients typically go on to receive significant investment, and grow their business and impact accordingly.

With the Programme now five years old, and ambitious plans for its future, we have paused to look back at just what change it has made over the years. The attached report summarises the changes, and demonstrates the proven effectiveness of this Programme.

Together, with the support of Kiwibank, The Tindall Foundation, Foundation North, WEL Energy, and recently the Rotary Club of Wellington, we have provided almost $800,000 in grants to 47 impact-led businesses. These businesses have then gone on to raise a combined total of almost $50 million in investment
