Simon Cooke

Simon is passionate about connecting people and facilitating meaningful & transformational experiences. As a long-time explorer of entrepreneurialism and environmentalism, social enterprise is in his blood.

Simon is a maker and a creative unbound by parameters. While completing a Bachelor of Design (Hons) at Massey University in Wellington, Simon lead a number of culture and leadership roles including a seat on the Student’s Association executive committee, the Resident’s Association, and was President of the University Brewing Society, before spending two years abroad. For years Simon has been enriched by designing and hosting a wide spectrum of unique & meaningful events for communities. From yoga raves, to morning dance parties, festivals, fundraisers & workshops, and in 2017 – the Social Enterprise World Forum.

Simon runs his own enterprise – Kakariki Beer Co, brewing beers that are big on flavour and easy on the planet. Simon has big dreams that this business will grow to plant a forest in it’s name, contribute to clean water projects, and build a facility recognised as the most sustainable brewery in the country.

Simon was born in Christchurch and is based in Wellington.
