Lauren has experience working across the non-profit, corporate, and startup sectors. She has also worked across a range of capabilities including strategic planning, operational improvement, financial modelling, investment-raising, and impact assessment.
In addition to her work at Ākina, she is the co-founder of Analytics for Us, which empowers people through data, providing workshops, coaching, and data resources. Before moving to New Zealand, Lauren lived in the Middle East where she was Interim COO for Jamalon, an eCommerce startup, and advised startups across the region, from Gaza and the West Bank to Saudi Arabia. Prior to her work in the Middle East, Lauren spent three years as a management consultant with Bain & Co. in San Francisco, where she consulted for tech, restaurant, and healthcare companies with $1B+ in annual revenues.
Lauren’s experience with the non-profit and NGO sector includes working as a Fulbright researcher in Morocco, where she studied female economic empowerment and running programmes for the Center for Relationship Abuse Awareness, a nonprofit that works to prevent relationship abuse and sexual assault. Lauren graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Economics and minors in Arabic and Human Biology.
