Guy is Ākina’s Director of International Development, and joined the organisation in February 2018. He is responsible for generating and delivering Ākina’s consultancy services, focusing on the promotion of social enterprise development and SME development internationally.
Guy has over 25 years experience working in international development and finance, and has worked in the private, public and NGO sectors. His career has taken him from Citibank in the UK, to New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to social enterprise, KickStart International, in Africa and, most recently, to the Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access (PHAMA) Program in the Pacific, where he was Team Leader based in Fiji.
He has worked on and off in the Pacific for the last 12 years, managing projects and programs in private sector development, agribusiness development, fisheries, tourism, transport and energy. He has also designed and implemented projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.
Guy has a Masters in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA (Hons) and French Diploma in European Business Administration from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, Reims, France and Middlesex University in London.
Guy is based in Wellington.
