Tairāwhiti turns out to celebrate its social entrepreneurs

Our Thrive Tairāwhiti programme, which ran from July-November 2016, ended with an inspiring Expo event on Thursday 24 November. The event, held at Gisborne’s Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club, was attended by participants, their friends and whanau, members of the community interested in social enterprises, programme sponsors, partners and media.

Thrive is a foundational programme run by the Akina Foundation. Through attending workshops participants are helped in building their individual capability in order to start a social enterprise.

You can watch the highlight reel below. It’s a celebration of the hard work and progress achieved by everyone involved, along with the impact that we hope they will go on to have on the wider Tairāwhiti region.

Thanks again to our partners Eastland Community Trust, NZ Post and Kiwibank for making this programme a success.
